Giving 101: Think Before You Tweet

Social donations are easy to give. You can retweet, like, or pin a social donation faster than you can type in your credit card number in an online giving form.

Because your entire social network will know about the support you're lending to a good cause, it's even more important to think before you tweet. What do you want your inner circle to know? Which organizations do you want to lend social capital to? What are you most passionate about?

Like a restaurant recommendation or business connection, we're all more likely to take notice of referrals that come from personal, trusted sources. This goes for philanthropy, too, so no matter the organization or vehicle for giving, give with intention.
